Why Luna & Roots

Rooted in Care.
Guided by Experience.

Luna & Roots was created from the belief that families flourish when they feel supported, informed, and deeply cared for — whether that's a nanny relationship built over years, or specialized support through your family's first weeks.

I combine hands-on childcare expertise with holistic birth and postpartum support to help families navigate every season, from newborn nights to school pickup lines. Through experience, presence, and personalized care, I help parents build strong roots while their children grow.

Because caring for a child is important.

Caring for the people raising that child is essential.

Birth Support

Labor is unpredictable. Having an experienced, calm presence by your side makes everything more manageable. I provide continuous labor support, evidence-based guidance, and emotional reassurance from early labor through delivery.

So you feel informed, empowered, and supported every step of the way. 6 years of travel doula experience means I'm also available for out-of-state births.

Home, Hospital & Birth Centers Welcome

Postpartum (4th Trimester) Support

The weeks after birth are just as important as the birth itself. My postpartum packages provide in-home support during the fourth trimester — newborn care guidance, feeding support, emotional check-ins, and practical help so you can heal, bond, and find your footing as a new family.

Career Nanny & Doula

Meet Cymone

At my core, I'm a nanny who builds lasting relationships with the families I work for. That said, my experience runs the full spectrum of a child's earliest years. As a birth and postpartum doula and newborn care specialist, I provide overnight support during a family's first weeks or months — work that's short-term by design, not by choice, but that's given me a depth of infant care expertise I carry into every long-term nanny placement that follows. Over six of those years, that work has also taken me to families outside Minnesota, so travel placements are something I'm well versed in.

I see every child as an individual, and I tailor attachment care to what each one actually needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach — drawing on RIE and Waldorf traditions to nurture imagination, self-expression, and a real sense of security.

Newborn Tips

01

Prioritize Swaddles for Ultimate Comfort

Swaddling tops every new-parent essentials list for good reason. A snug, secure wrap recreates the womb's cozy environment, calming your baby and extending sleep stretches. Practice the technique until it feels second nature.

02

Optimize Baby's Sleep Space

White noise, a gentle red night light, a room temperature between 68–72°F, and blackout curtains work together to recreate the womb's atmosphere. These simple adjustments make a measurable difference in sleep quality for both baby and parent.

03

Embrace Baby-wearing

Wearing your baby fosters skin-to-skin bonding, supports brain development, and gives you hands-free freedom, while keeping your newborn close and settled in busy or unfamiliar spaces.
